In cooperation with Alterric, three E-138 Enercon turbines will be built in the repower-ing project in Saxony
Kallinchen, 30 August 2023. Construction of three wind turbines in Mittelherwigsdorf (Saxony) began in July. The project is a repowering project in cooperation with Alterric Deutschland GmbH, whereby three of the eight old E-40, E-66 and E-70 wind turbines are being dismantled and replaced with three E-138 turbines. The hub height of the turbines is 160 m and the output 4.2 MW per turbine. Repowering will increase electricity production at the three locations sixfold. This corresponds to a supply of renewable electricity for around 11,000 households.
Energiequelle undertook the development for the cooperation project and brought the project to approval stage. In February of this year, the turbines were awarded the contract in the Federal Network Agency’s tender.
By June 2024, two turbines for Alterric Deutschland GmbH and one for Energiequelle GmbH are to be built and put into operation. Energiequelle is responsible for the coordination and monitoring of the construction process and will undertake the operational management of its own turbine.
Diana Georgiew, Project Manager at Energiequelle, is proud of the success of her work and that of the entire project team: “In Saxony, we have experienced a severe dry spell in the expansion of renewable energies. That’s why we’re even more excited to celebrate our team’s first construction start since opening our office in 2017.”
The company has already built a total of 18 wind turbines in Saxony, and more than 850 tur-bines across Europe. With 21 subsidiaries in Germany, France, Finland and Poland, Ener-giequelle is on a sustained international growth course.
