Five Nordex plants with a total output of 15 MW will be built in Ardennes foothills
Villers-le-Tourneur, 15 October 2020. The construction of Villers-le-Tourneur wind farm began in the Grand-Est region, close to the Belgian border, on 1 September, just as restrictions on construction works due to the bird nesting season ended. Five N-117 Nordex turbines, each with a hub height of 91 m and a total output of 15 MW, are expected to supply almost 10,000 households with electricity each year in the future. The French Energiequelle subsidiary P&T Technologie is responsible for construction.
The project was acquired from the pipeline of the Leipzig-based project developer Green Energy 3000 GmbH, who is supporting in Villers-le-Tourneur on site.
Cable and road construction work is currently taking place on site so that foundation construction can begin in November. The wind farm is scheduled to be commissioned in July 2021.
With the implementation of the Villers-le-Tourneur wind farm, the output of the turbines constructed by P&T in France will reach a total of 200 MW, while a further 73 MW is to be added in the next two years. In total, the Energiequelle Group has built more than 750 turbines with an output of over 1,400 MW.
