Brandenburg company meets all the conditions for a successful information security management system
Kallinchen, 9 August 2023. In March of this year, Energiequelle GmbH’s control room received certification in accordance with the DIN EN ISO/IEC 27001 standard after a nine-month process. This international standard specifies the requirements for a successful Information Security Management System (ISMS). First, readiness for certification was determined by an expert. In the course of the certification audit, the implementation of the ISMS put in place was professionally examined and evaluated. With positive results.
In addition to a strictly defined security organisation, the ISMS regulates, among other things, IT incident management and the correct management of individual risks in companies. This ensures the security and quality of the business processes at Energiequelle.
With this certification, Energiequelle GmbH’s control room is one of the few ISO 27001 certified control rooms in the industry throughout Germany. André Wiemer, IT-Systems Administrator at Energiequelle, is proud of the successful certification: “We have reached an important milestone, which is reflected in the safety and quality of our operations. The standards achieved through the path to certification must now be maintained and continuously improved.”
After the EMAS certificate for audited environmental management and the introduction of the quality management system according to ISO 9001, which is targeted for 2024, the ISO 27001 certification is an important award on the continuing growth course of Energiequelle GmbH. The company currently employs more than 450 people in four countries and has connected more than 1,600 MW to the grid to date.
